MidLab - Staffed Hours (Vck, Amanda V, & Connie)

The MidLab is the Library makerspace where anyone 12 and up can create, learn, and explore with self-led sessions and hands-on classes! Registration is for one session and is required to use the MidLab space.

Staff will be present and, with their permission, you can use all of the equipment. The makerspace emphasizes self-led learning, so staff can help give guidance, but won’t do your project for you. We appreciate your patience as they may have to help multiple patrons during the session! 

MidLab equipment is on a first-come, first-served basis, but please be mindful of others and work together. If you’d like to do a project that will use a machine for a long time, reach out to Jon at jvanderhoof@midland-mi.org, and we can work something out.

DIY Hours equipment includes:

• Sewing machines
• Cricuts
• Heat press (small)
• Computers*
• Button makers
• Try-it kits
• And more!

*The MidLab computers provide access to Adobe Creative Suite, Canva Pro, Cricut Access, Glowforge Premium, Hatch Embroidery, and more!

Staffed Hours equipment includes all of the above, as well as: 

• Laser engravers (Glowforge/xTool)
• Sublimation printer 
• 3D printers
• Heat presses (Large)
• Embroidery machines
• Serger sewing machine

By completing this registration form, you agree to the attached MidLab User Agreement. If you are registering a minor between the ages of 12-17, you must be the minor's legal guardian, and by registering you agree to take responsibility on behalf of the minor for the attached MidLab User Agreement. Guardian information must be completed in order for a minor to attend MidLab sessions.

No children 11 and under, including infants, are allowed in the MidLab even with a parent present.
