Mystery Author: A James Ponti Reading Challenge

James Ponti is one of our favorite Battle of the Books authors — and also a recent visitor to GADML. When James was younger, he didn't read because he thought it "wasn't for me." He is challenging each of our readers to read five books by authors they have never read before.

Pick five authors you have never read — perhaps even one or two you've never heard of — and read one book by each of those authors. Will you find a new author that you love? It's a mystery (and we hope a YES)! Log your reading in the Beanstack app; online at gadml.beanstack.org; or using a paper log, available in the library starting 10/31.

This challenge runs from 11/1 through 12/31/23. After it ends, we'll draw three gift card winners: one child, one tween/teen, and one adult.

Note: For those taking on the challenge who read middle grade books, James recommends you browse the authors on "The Renegades of Middle Grade" website (renegadesofmiddlegrade.com) that he helped to start with many fellow (awesome) middle grade writers.
