Author Visit with Kelsey Ronan

June 22 at 6:30pm in the Orchard Room

Kelsey Ronan's 2023 Michigan Notable Book Chevy in the Hole is "about the things that change over time and the things that don't ... a love letter to Flint and the resilience of its people."

Gus Molloy overdoses in the bathroom of the Detroit farm-to-table restaurant where he works. Back in his hometown of Flint, he navigates sobriety, meets urban farmer Monae, and starts to believe in Monae's aspirations of what the vacant, damaged land in Flint might become. But as their love blooms, a crisis strikes their city, threatening their dreams. Their story is interwoven with those of their families, showing "what people need from one another and from the city they call home" through the generations.

Copies of Chevy in the Hole are available for checkout in the library. Registration is not required for this free event, but please feel free to sign up if you would like an email reminder the day before. Copies of Chevy in the Hole will be available for purchase at the event.

This event is part of the Michigan Notable Books Author Tour. It is sponsored by The Library of Michigan, The Library of Michigan Foundation, Michigan Humanities, and the Michigan Center for the Book.
