Generational Pen Pals - Summer Reading 2024

The Grace A. Dow Memorial Library is working with libraries around the country to connect people this Summer by pairing library patrons from different generations together as pen pals. 

Here is the rundown for important dates during this program: 

May 1-20: Patrons can register 

May 21-27: We will pair pen pals and reach out to everyone participating 

May 29: Starting this day patrons can come pick up their Pen Pal Packets.
(Packets include pen pal information, paper, envelopes, and suggested writing topics) 

June 10 – August 10: Patrons are encouraged to write at least 3 letters to their pen pals 

How it will work: 

• Patrons can register by going online to fill out the Google form here: https://forms.gle/dWagQf4PoU9cNgt66 or by calling the library 989-837-3430.  
• Patrons will be given their Pen Pal’s name (first name, last initial, but not their address) as well as a little bit about their pen pal. 
• Once you write your letter, you will return it to the library and we will mail it to your pen pal for you! 
• For all ages.
