Program Description

Event Details

Join us for our Book Royale, a trivia-centered book club.  This program for adults will quiz your general book knowledge and which facts you can remember from this month’s book choice, "Firekeeper's Daughter" by Angeline Boulley.

*Registration is required. Participants may register as an individual or a team of two.

"Firekeeper's Daughter" is the 2023-2024 Great Michigan Read. It's the story of Daunis, who is part Ojibwe, deferring her enrollment at the University of Michigan to care for her mother. She reluctantly becomes involved in the investigation of a series of drug-related deaths. Through the course of the book, Daunis learns what it means to be a strong Ojibwe woman and how far she'll go for her community. There will be an additional Book Discussion opportunity on April 9 at 6:00pm in the Library's Orchard Room if you do not want to participate in Book Royale.

The 2023–24 Great Michigan Read is presented by Michigan Humanities and supported by national, statewide, and local partners, including the National Endowment for the Humanities, The Meijer Foundation, Library of Michigan, Image Creative Group, BiblioBoard, and Michigan Radio Reads.
